James and I had a wonderful weekend full of "the little things" that matter in life! The weather was absolutely beautiful so James snuck out of work early on Friday and we went for a walk on base. Baby Lyle got the hiccups that night and James was able to hear and feel them...he was so giddy, like a little boy on Christmas, made my heart melt. Saturday morning after his workout he brought me home a maple donut with cream filling...only one place in Cheyenne carries them and he hunted them down just for me :-) That afternoon we took advantage of another nice weather day and walked around Lions Park, then came home and napped...3rd trimester is just as exhausting as the 1st trimester! We went to mass that night and then out to a local Mexican restaurant that is in an old renovated house...yummy! Sunday we went to the Home and Garden Show in Loveland -- a complete bust :-( On our way back up North we stopped by a Kite Extravaganza at Spring Canyon Community Park in Ft. Collins. The temps were in the high 70s and there was a slight breeze...yet another perfect opportunity to go for a walk! There were hundreds --if not, thousands --in attendance, but the park is so big that it didn't seem crowded. We had a blast watching families and little kids and talking about all the dreams we have for our growing family. We even picked out little ones that were about the same age that our baby will be next year at this time...we can't wait to take a family outing to the Kite Extravaganza next spring!! The park has a great setup and is located right next to the foothills, I can see this being a picnic destination quite often :-) We then searched out a restaurant with a patio so we could enjoy a nice lunch outside...great way to end a wonderful weather weekend enjoying the little things in life!!
**side note - Cheyenne is under a winter storm watch tomorrow and is expected to get 5-8 inches of snow...ugh, why can't it just be spring?!
