4 months old!!

Nathan James is 4 months old!

 

Weight: 14lbs 14oz (50th percentile)

Height: 26.5 inches (90th percentile)

Head Circumference: 41.75cm (40th percentile)

 

 

Eating: Nathan in averaging 20-24oz of Elecare formula a day. I was so worried that he wasn't gaining enough weight, but the pediatrician said he is doing great so I don't need to "force" any more down him :-) He still has terrible reflux and is now taking Prevacid...which seem to be working a little better than the Zantac. We still change bibs hourly and follow him around with a burp cloth! So excited for this stage to end!

 

Sleeping: This month Nathan has hit many sleep milestones!! He now sleeps 11.5 hours every night with no feedings!! Goes down around 8pm and wakes up between 7:30 and 7:45am! I am in heaven! He also mastered napping in his crib! It took A LOT of training and patience, but he now goes down between 9/9:30am and sleeps until 11/11:30am. Afternoon naps are from 1-3:00ish. No fussing, just a couple pats on the back and his lullaby seahorse :-)

 

Playing: So fun watching Nathan become independent! He loves just about anything you put in front of him...plastic rings, O ball, crocodile on wheels, books, etc. He gets the most enjoyment out of sitting in his bumbo with an assortment of toys to pick from. Tickling his toes and playing with his legs gets the biggest belly laugh from him. He also LOVES books and can stay entertained for quite some time...James has decided his favorite book is "The Barnyard Dance"!

 

4 Month Memories:

- Nathan is a great traveler...sleeps great in the pack'n play anywhere!!

- 1st Vacation: Vail, CO

- 1st holiday: Halloween...he dressed up as a football!

- Recognizes the sound of his bottle being made and smiles.
- Peekaboo entertains him for longer than I can/want to play ;-)

- Loves the sound of wrapping paper being torn.

- 1st time being babysat...Granny B and Grandpa watched him while we had a date night!! Had a 40 minute scream session, but other than that did great!

- Removed the head support and raised the straps in his car seat...getting to be a big boy!

- Did great during his 4 month shots, but the next day came down with a fever (102*) finally went away after several rounds of Tylenol and a warm bath.

- Finding clothes that fit is nearly impossible...he currently wears 0-3months, 3months, 3-6months and 6 month clothes...thank goodness for Once Upon A Child!! Oh, and still in Size 1 Pamper Swaddlers.

- Eczema has taken over his body :-( He has really bad patches behind is elbows, knees, under his chin and on his scalp.

 

If I can reach it I put it in my mouth!

I have a hold of 2 toys and I want them BOTH in my
mouth...how am I going to accomplish this?!
